Welcome to Issue 8.5!
I’m just going to tease it now . . . next week is going to be a big week for announcements! We have several exciting new things coming up. So, make sure you check back next week to find out what’s new!
In the meantime, we’ve got three fantastic new pieces for you from three fabulous women writers! “Chronic” is a powerful personal essay by Emma Varney, “How to Cancel a Date Without Being an Absolute Bitch” is an incisive short story by Emily Fontenot, and “Agnostic in Winter” is a poignant poem by Alexis-Rueal.
I realized I’ve never actually invited our readers to contact us and share what they’ve liked or not liked about the Same. If you have thoughts you’d like to share, we’re always interested to know how the journal is being received. Feel free to send us an email through the contact link at the top of the page.
I’ve not plugged our anthology in a while, so I’ll take the opportunity to do that now. “Raising Her Voice” is an incredible body of work by twenty-one women authors from around the world. It’s available via Amazon, and the proceeds go to keeping the journal afloat. We are working toward the goal of being able to pay authors for their work. Your purchases of the anthology help us get closer to that goal. The stories, essays, and poems in the anthology are really great, so you are in for a treat!
Until next time!
Sincerely,
Rachel Holbrook
